FULL METAL RACKET
While making a delivery of Planet Chow to a living planet things go awry when Fry forgets to secure the planet on the ship and it begins to fall out resulting in the living planet chasing the Planet Express ship trying to gobble up all the tender morsels. After promising to not do anything stupid for the rest of the flight, Fry makes the 'smart' decision to pick up some space hitchhikers who turn out to be representatives for the Aliens for the Ethical Treatment of Mammals and decide that Fry and Leela have been overworked so they liberate them to a mammal sanctuary planet. Bender, not being human or mammal is released. While on the planet they quickly find out that it is inhabited with everything they need to lead an idyllic existence - except for the transforming robuts who consider humans to be pests and look to exterminate them.

While escaping the transforming robuts, they fall down a hole and meet Pamela, a member of the human resistance on the planet. Unfortunately they find out the leader of the resistance is none other than Zapp Brannigan. Returning from his latest mission he informs Pamela, Fry, and Leela that all other resistance fighters have been killed and they are all that is left.

Back at the Planet Express building Professor Farnsworth suspends Bender for letting Fry and Leela get caught and transported to another world. In order to run a scam Bender decides to ruin all space scout compasses by disrupting the true north magnet and sell them all new ones that work. While trying to use a giant magnet to disrupt the true north magnet an accident occurs and Bender becomes a reverse magnet repelling all metal objects from him.

Back on the mammal sanctuary planet Leela takes charge of the escape plan and she and Pamela construct a new spaceship from organic material on the planet. As they are about to leave she realizes that she made a mistake in weight calculations and that they are too heavy and orders Zapp to lose weight by carrying around a cinder block for 24 hours. While jogging the rest escape the planet and head for home. Back on Earth Bender decides to catapult himself in to the sun with a homemade catapult since he can no longer partake in beer, robot floozies, and other things such as suicide booths because they are all made of metal. Fry, Leela, and Pamela arrive back at Planet Express, Bender attempts to steal their ship to fly in to the sun but the ship is only built for one trip and it explodes shortly after take off. Bender crashes down and is restored to his normal self.

Another top notch job by all involved. Great, fun story involving many Futurama characters in logical ways, and a great art job by the team of James Lloyd and Andrew Pepoy. That would have been enough for this issue but what is really striking about it is the coloring job done by Nathan Hamill. It could be the nature of the story and the settings or the better quality paper used to print on but each page pops and is vibrant with deep rich hues and is a pleasure to look at.
