What starts out as a normal evening out with the Planet Express gang quickly turns in to a trip through both time and space for a favorite resident doctor - Dr. Zoidberg. The Professor has invited everyone to dinner to show them his latest invention - the Quantum Ring that exists in all time periods simultaneously. When the appetizers of calamari arrives Zoidberg steals what he thinks is a calamari ring which turns out to be the Professor's Quantum Ring sending Zoidberg on a trip that even Alice would have agreed was pretty trippy.
Jumping between time Zoidberg must now figure out how he saved the world from destruction as he must stop the Mom and President Nixon's head from getting married which starts the beginning of the end. It is battle bot versus a clone army of Zapp Brannigans to see who will reign supreme. Zoidberg devises a plan to save the world by attempting to marry the Professor to Mom before the impending nuptials with Nixon but will he have enough time to enact his plan and more importantly will he even be able to figure out what that plan is before it is 'too late?'
Another great story by Ian Boothby who somehow manages to weave a story that jumps forward, back, and in to the present and never really ever gets lost with the common thread of Dr. Zoidberg. Zoidberg is certainly a fan favorite character from the show and it is always fun to see him spotlighted throughout this issue and used in a way that is consistent with the character that we know from the TV show but does not change him in any significant way. Bongo please note we love our side characters just as much as we love the side characters in the Simpsons - how about a one shot wonder comic?
James Lloyd provides art for the story and is also a fan favorite of both Futurama and Simpsons Comics. Looks like he just has a blast every time he puts pencil to paper on a Futurama comic and I always look forward to seeing his name on the credits. If you get a chance take a stroll over to one or both of his sites:

From his posts on his blog and on Facebook I get the feeling that the medium of comics and illustration is important to him and takes his craft very seriously. Occasionally he offers up a small tidbit of his working process such as the following:

With Futurama the show coming to an end it is nice to see that Bongo Comics has stated they are committed to continuing the comic for the foreseeable future. Let Bongo know you appreciate their efforts and want to see Futurama Comics continue in to the future.
